Speaking to agency, after the hearing, the complainant's lawyer, Sangram Kolhatkar, said there is no provision that enables accused persons to appear through video conferencing. The instruction protests, however, it allowed allowing it to be submitted and granting bail to Rahul Gandhi by way of video conference in the light of current circumstances. The next hearing will be on February 18.

Satyaki Savarkar, who had filed a complainant earlier, had criticized Gandhi's statement by saying, "Rahul Gandhi went to England last month and said Savarkar had written in his book that he and his friends assaulted a Muslim person and enjoyed doing it." This is a false and insulting claim. The incident he mentioned is imaginary.
