PM Modi to Launch Green Hydrogen Hub in Andhra Pradesh
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be on a two-day visit to Andhra Pradesh and Odisha on January 8 and 9. During this time he will lay the foundation stone of many projects. He will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of projects worth over Rs 2 lakh crore in Visakhapatnam on January 8 at 5:30 pm.
PM Modi will also inaugurate the 18th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD) convention in Bhubaneswar on January 9 at 10 am. He will lay the foundation stone of the state-of-the-art NTPC Green Energy Limited Green Hydrogen Hub project at Pudimdaka near Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh, which is the first Green Hydrogen Hub under the National Green Hydrogen Mission.
Inauguration of Projects
The project involves an investment of about Rs.1,85,000 crore. This will include investment in 20 GW of renewable energy capacities, making it one of India's largest integrated green hydrogen production facilities with the capacity to produce 1500 TPD of green hydrogen and 7500 TPD of green hydrogen derivatives, including green methanol, green urea and sustainable aviation fuels, targeting primarily the export market.
The project will contribute significantly to achieving India's target of 500 GW of non-fossil energy capacity by 2030.
Railway and road projects
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will dedicate to the nation various railway and road projects in Andhra Pradesh, worth over Rs 19,500 crore. This includes laying the foundation stone of the South Coast Railway Headquarters at Visakhapatnam and a number of other projects.
The construction of the railway headquarters will reduce congestion, improve connectivity and promote regional social and economic development. Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for a Bulk Drug Park at Nakkapalli in Anakapalli district.
The bulk drug park will create thousands of jobs and help spur economic growth due to its proximity to the Visakhapatnam-Chennai Industrial Corridor (VCIC) and the Visakhapatnam-Kakinada Petroleum, Chemical and Petrochemical Investment Region.
Foundation stone to be laid for Krishnapatnam Industrial Area
The Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stone for the Krishnapatnam Industrial Area (KRIS City) under the Chennai-Bengaluru Industrial Corridor in Tirupati district of Andhra Pradesh.
A flagship project under the National Industrial Corridor Development Programme, Krishnapatnam Industrial Area (KRIS City) is being touted as a greenfield industrial smart city. The project is expected to attract significant manufacturing investment of about Rs 10,500 crore and is estimated to generate around 1 lakh direct and indirect jobs, significantly enhance livelihoods and spur sectoral progress.
PM to inaugurate 18th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas convention in Odisha. The Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD) Convention, the flagship event of the Government of India, provides an important platform to connect with the Indian diaspora and enable them to interact with each other.
18th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas Convention
The 18th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas convention is being organized in Bhubaneswar from 8 to 10 January 2025 in partnership with the Government of Odisha. The theme of this PBD convention is 'Contribution of Indian Diaspora in Developed India'.
A large number of NRIs from more than 50 different countries have registered to participate in the conference. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off the first Pravasi Bharatiya Express today. It is a special tourist train for Indian expatriates.
The train will depart from Delhi's Nizamuddin railway station and will travel to several places of tourist and religious importance in India for a period of three weeks. The Pravasi Bharatiya Express will be operated under the Pravasi Teerth Darshan Scheme.
