Grenade Attack on Army Post in Poonch, Search Operation Underway
Jammu and Kashmir: In Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir, terrorists have attacked the army post with grenades today.
The terrorists threw two grenades, one of which exploded. No one was injured in the attack, officials said.
Security forces have launched a search operation to nab the terrorists. Militants hurled two grenades at an army post located behind an army camp in Surankote area, the officials said.
One of these was disabled by experts during the search operation.
Some Suspects were Arrested Last Week
The safety pin of the exploded grenade was found near the boundary wall of the Army camp, the official said.
Security forces had laid a cordon on Wednesday following reports of suspicious movement along the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district last week.
Security officials said that the search operation was launched after receiving information about suspicious movement of some people. Some people were about to flee the area.
They were surrounded by Rashtriya Rifles personnel in Behari Ash forest in Mendhar sector.
