NCB and Spiritual Groups Unite for Drug-Free India Mission

On Monday, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) entered into a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with five prominent spiritual organizations as part of Mission Spandan in Delhi.

The project, conceptualized by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, seeks to combat drug abuse and addiction to psychotropic substances through spirituality, awareness, and collective effort.

Anurag Garg, Director General of IPS and NCB, emphasized the significance of the mission while presiding over the event, stating, 'Mission Spandan consolidates efforts to foster resilience and advocate for a drug-free India.'

NCB To Provide Technical Assistance And Educational Resources

Anand Prakash Tiwari, the Deputy Director General (Special Wing, Legal and Awareness) for NCB, signed the Memorandum of Understanding on behalf of spiritual organizations including Art of Living, Prajapita Brahma Kumaris, ISKCON, Sant Nirankari Charitable Foundation, and Ram Chandra Mission.

In this collaboration, NCB will provide technical support and educational resources, working alongside local authorities. Meanwhile, spiritual organizations will lead grassroots awareness campaigns, youth-oriented initiatives, and community engagement activities.

Senior NCB officers Monika Ashish Batra, Gyaneshwar Singh, and Neeraj Kumar Gupta were present at the ceremony and highlighted the Bureau's commitment to this mission.

The event concluded with a collective vow spearheaded by Anurag Garg, IPS, emphasizing the shared dedication to eliminating substance abuse. Mission Spandan now stands as an important emblem of partnership, signifying a vital move towards establishing a healthy and drug-free country.
