Preparations for Maha Kumbh are in Full Swing

Meanwhile, in a historic decision on Monday, the Uttar Pradesh government led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has declared the Mahakumbh area in Prayagraj as a new district.

This decision, which led to the formation of the new Maha Kumbh Mela district, was made to streamline the management and administration of the upcoming Kumbh Mela, to ensure smooth operations for the grand religious event scheduled to be held in January 2025.

To ensure the safety and convenience of an estimated 45 crore devotees, the Yogi Adityanath government is revolutionizing the preparations for the upcoming Mahakumbh.

Highly Digitalized "AI-powered cameras"

For the first time, this grand event is being digitized on such a large scale, leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI) and social media platforms to enhance management and security. Security arrangements are being made on land, water and air.

For the first time, to prevent any untoward incident during bathing rituals, water police are being equipped with high-tech jet skis, often called "mini ships".

AI-powered cameras are being installed throughout the Kumbh venue to monitor the huge crowd and ensure 24/7 surveillance. These state-of-the-art cameras will not only strengthen security but also aid in reuniting the separated persons during the event.

In addition, popular social media platforms like Facebook and Exe will provide immediate assistance in finding lost relatives, thereby streamlining the process of reuniting families among the rush of pilgrims.

The Mahakumbh will begin with Paush Purnima Snan, which is on 13 January 2025. The Kumbh Utsav will conclude on 26 February 2025 with the last bath on Mahashivratri.
