Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra was sworn in as a Lok Sabha MP on Thursday. She took the oath with a copy of the Constitution in her hand. Meanwhile, Priyanka Gandhi's mother Sonia Gandhi, brother Rahul Gandhi, Rehan Vadra, and Priyanka and Robert Vadra's children, Miraya Vadra and their son, also attended the oath-taking ceremony in Parliament.

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra secured the Wayanad Lok Sabha seat with a lead of 4,10,931 votes, defeating Satyan Mokeri of the Communist Party of India (CPI).

In the Congress bastion of Wayanad, a three-way contest unfolded between Priyanka Gandhi, BJP's Navya Haridas, and CPI's Satyan Mokeri.

Priyanka Gandhi conveyed her joy on Wednesday upon receiving the election certificate, calling it a representation of affection, trust, and dedication to common values.

Today, my colleagues from Wayanad delivered my election certificate. To me, it's more than just a piece of paper; it represents your love, trust, and the principles we stand for. Thank you, Wayanad, for selecting me to embark on this journey towards a better future for you,

Rahul Gandhi, who previously represented Wayanad, vacated the seat after winning a Lok Sabha seat from Rae Bareli in Uttar Pradesh in this year's general elections.

Congress leader Ravindra Vasantrao Chavan was also sworn in as an MP in the Lok Sabha.

Ravindra Vasantrao Chavan, the Congress candidate, secured victory in the Nanded Lok Sabha by-election with a margin of 5,86,788 votes. This by-election was required due to the passing of the incumbent Congress MP Vasantrao Balwantrao Chavan.

By-elections took place in 48 legislative assembly constituencies and two parliamentary constituencies across 15 states, with significant contests observed in Uttar Pradesh and Wayanad, Kerala, where Priyanka Gandhi made her first electoral appearance.
