Delhi Police Tightens Traffic Rules to Combat Pollution

Delhi Traffic Update: The PCR van (Prakhar) and local police station will now issue challans after SC's rebuke.

Delhi Traffic Rule Change : In response to the Supreme Court's strong disapproval of Delhi's extreme pollution levels, the Delhi Police has initiated measures. Both the Delhi Police's PCR vans (Prakhar) and local police stations will now impose fines on vehicles.

People who violate the Grape-4 regulations will be issued a fine by these authorities. A traffic officer in a PCR van and two fine machines have been assigned to the local police station. After a reprimand from the Supreme Court, Delhi Police Commissioner Sanjay Arora directed 15 district heads and senior officials. Careless officers will face severe penalties.

A high-ranking officer of the Delhi Police stated that challan machines were distributed to all police stations on Tuesday. The district chief will receive updates from each police station every evening.

88 Prakhar Vans Engaged in Challaning

The login ID for the challan machine provided to the police will be registered under the name of the station head. A total of 88 Prakhar vans from the PCR have been deployed to issue challans to polluting vehicles.

Ajay Chaudhary, the Special Commissioner of Police (Traffic) in Delhi, mentioned that traffic personnel have been stationed in the Prakhar vans along with the challan machines.

Pankaj Singh, the Deputy Commissioner of Police for PCR, stated that the deployment of these 88 Prakhar vans, tasked with identifying and catching polluting vehicles, has now begun at designated locations.

Special Commissioner of Police of Delhi Traffic Ajay Chaudhary said that the traffic police personnel are taking all possible action to catch the polluting vehicles. Traffic personnel are giving training to PCR and local police station police to challan with machines.
