Haryana Assembly Forms 13 Committees, Announces Chairmen
Haryana Assembly Committees: On Saturday night, Haryana Assembly Speaker Harvindra Kalyan announced the formation of 13 committees within the assembly.
These committees are typically established to conduct detailed examinations of specific issues, oversee government activities, and provide recommendations. Meetings of these committees are scheduled to take place every Tuesday in the Assembly. The Speaker ensured fair representation by including MLAs from both the ruling party and the opposition.
Congress MLAs from the opposition have been appointed as chairpersons of these committees, while Independent and INLD MLAs, though included as members, were not given chairmanship roles. Each committee comprises eight to nine members in addition to the chairperson.
Nuh MLA Appointed Chairman of Lok Samiti
Chaudhary Aftab Ahmed, a Congress MLA from Nuh, has been appointed as the chairman of the Public Accounts Committee, a highly significant body. Assembly Speaker Harvindra Kalyan has also previously served as the chairman of this committee.
Tenure of Privilege Committee Not Fixed
BJP MLA from Ballabhgarh, Pandit Mool Chand Sharma, has been appointed as the head of the Privilege Committee, with its tenure extending until further notice. Other committees for the 2024-25 term have also been constituted.

Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes Welfare Committee: BJP MLA from Nilokheri, Bhagwan Das Kabirpanthi, appointed as Chairman.
Rules Committee of the Assembly: Speaker Harvindra Kalyan to serve as Chairman.
Government Assurance Committee: Rohtak Congress MLA, Bharat Bhushan Batra, appointed as Chairman.
Subordinate Legislative Work Committee: BJP MLA from Rai, Krishna Gehlawat, appointed as Chairman.
Petition Committee: BJP MLA from Yamunanagar, Ghanshyam Das, appointed as Chairman.
Urban Bodies and Panchayati Raj Institutions Committee: BJP MLA from Bhiwani, Ghanshyam Saraf, was appointed as Chairman.
Vinod Bhayana, BJP MLA from Hansi, has been appointed as the chairman of the committee for monitoring protocol compliance and the behavior of administrative officers.
Pramod Vij, BJP MLA from Panipat City, will head the Estimates Committee.
Ramkumar Gautam, BJP MLA from Safidon, has been named the chairman of the Public Undertaking Committee.
