PM Modi to Unveil Tribal Projects Worth Rs 6,640 Crore in Bihar
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Bihar's Jamui on Friday to celebrate Janjatiya Gaurav Divas, which marks the beginning of the 150th birth anniversary celebrations of Dharti Aba Bhagwan Birsa Munda.

According to the Prime Minister's Office, the Prime Minister will unveil a commemorative coin and postage stamp in honour of Bhagwan Birsa Munda at around 11 am on Friday. He will also inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of several development projects worth over Rs 6,640 crore aimed at the upliftment of tribal communities and improving infrastructure in rural and remote areas of the region. The Prime Minister will participate in the Griha Pravesh of 11,000 houses constructed under the Tribal Adivasi Nyay Maha Abhiyan (PM-Janman).

He will also inaugurate 23 Mobile Medical Units (MMUs) taken up under PM-Janman and additional 30 MMUs under Dharti Aba Tribal Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan (DAJGUA) to increase healthcare access in tribal areas. The Prime Minister will inaugurate 300 Van Dhan Vikas Kendras (VDVKs) and 10 Eklavya Model Residential Schools costing around Rs 450 crore dedicated to tribal students to promote tribal entrepreneurship and support livelihood creation. He will also inaugurate two tribal freedom fighter museums in Chhindwara and Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh and two tribal research institutes in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir and Gangtok, Sikkim to document and preserve the rich history and heritage of tribal communities.
What is PM Janman ?
The Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for 500 km of new roads to improve connectivity in tribal areas and 100 Multi-purpose Centres (MPCs) functioning as community centres under PM Jaman. He will also lay the foundation stone for 25 additional Eklavya Model Residential Schools at a cost of Rs 1,110 crore, furthering the commitment of quality education for tribal children.
Development Projects that will Get Approved
The Prime Minister will also approve various development projects, including 25,000 new houses at a cost of around Rs 500 crore under PM Janman and 1.16 lakh houses at a cost of over Rs 1960 crore under Dharti Aba Adivasi Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan (DAJGUA); 66 hostels under PM Janman and 304 hostels under DAJGUA at a cost of over Rs 1100 crore; 50 new multipurpose centres, 55 mobile medical units and 65 anganwadi centres under PM Jaman; 6 Competence Centres for Sickle Cell Anaemia Eradication and 330 projects worth about Rs 500 crore for upgradation of Ashram schools, hostels, Government residential schools under DAJGUA.
