Nursery Admission Process Begins in Delhi: Key Dates to Remember

Nursery admissions are about to open in over 1,700 private schools across Delhi. If you're planning to enroll your child in nursery, now is the time to start getting ready.

Program For Nursery Admissions Released:

The Directorate of Education, Delhi Government, has released the guidelines for nursery admissions. To streamline the process, it's important to prepare a file containing all the necessary documents for the child. Parents often encounter difficulties related to documentation during the admission process.

Admission Form For The First Class Available:

According to the Directorate of Education, for the 2025-26 academic session, students will be enrolled in Nursery, KG Nursery, and KG Nursery. Admission forms for Class 1 will be available starting November 28. These forms can be obtained either through the school website or by visiting the school in person.

Initially, only 75 percent of the seats will be filled. The admission process for the remaining 25 percent of seats will begin once 75 percent of the general category seats in the school have been filled. The Directorate of Education will issue further notices to provide additional information regarding this process.

Last Date:

Parents are advised that the forms will be distributed on November 28, with the final date for submission being December 20. The Directorate of Education is allowing ample time for filling out the form and gathering the necessary documents. However, many parents rush through the process, leaving the form incomplete, which results in cancellations. To avoid this, ensure that the form is filled out correctly, as any mistakes will lead to its cancellation. A fee of Rs 25 will be charged for the form.

'First Come, First Served'

For nursery admissions, schools are required to upload their admission criteria on the Directorate of Education's website. However, it has often been observed that many schools fail to do so. Private schools assign points based on their specific criteria, and some schools also admit children on a first-come, first-served basis.

According to the nursery admission schedule, the list of selected candidates will be released after the form submission deadline of December 20. Children who have been granted admission will also receive a notification via mobile message.
