Patna: Independent MP Pappu Yadav from Bihar's Purnia has received death threats from Lawrence Bishnoi gang. After this, they have demanded to increase their security circle. Pappu Yadav wrote a letter to the Union Home Minister in this regard and demanded to increase the 'Y category' security for himself to 'Z category'. The Purnia MP has also complained about this to senior police officials.

Threats to kill me

Pappu Yadav further wrote that when Nepal's militant organisation Maoist threatened me on my mobile. I was put under Y-plus (threat) security cover by the Union Home Department in 2015. In 2019, my security cover was reduced to Y category security cover. Taking advantage of my lack of security, during the Lok Sabha elections, many vicious criminals of murder went live on their Facebook and abused me. I had informed the Bihar Chief Minister, Home Secretary, Director General of Police about this. My misfortune is that nobody has taken care of it till today. Today when the Lawrence Bishnoi gang is continuously doing incident after incident in the country. I protested against the incident as I am a political person. "The head of Lawrence Bishnoi gang has threatened to kill me on my mobile phone if I protest. The copy of which I am attaching for easy availability. Despite such a big threat to my life, the Home Ministry of Bihar and the Union Home Ministry seem inactive towards my security. It seems that only after my assassination, they will be active only to express condolences in the Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha.

From 'Y category' to 'Z category'

Pappu Yadav requested that my security cover should be increased from 'Y category' to 'Z' category security cover in time. Also, strict arrangements should be made for additional security at the venue including police escort in all districts of Bihar. If this is not done, I will be killed at any time. It will be the responsibility of the Central and Bihar Government.
