Yashasvi Jaiswal Captain: India’s young superstar Yashasvi Jaiswal always makes it to the headlines for his performances, but this time he made it to the spotlight due to his recent comments made on his dreams. Jaiswal dreams of becoming India’s key player in white-ball cricket. He also revealed that he has aspirations of playing in the T20 World Cup but is waiting for the right time and making sure that he plays that brand of cricket that time, which he dreams of.

Jaiswal made his debut in international cricket in the year 2023 in Test Cricket against the West Indies. Currently he is a key player for India in Test, especially after the retirement of Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Ravichandran Ashwin. But as of now he has not been able to fix his place in the Indian team in T20I and ODI yet.

The young sensation Yashasvi Jaiswal was also part of the winning team of the 2023 Asian Games in Hangzhou. At the time, he has yet to get a consistent run of matches, stating that he might not be in the scheme of things for the T20I team.

But it is not stopping Jaiswal at all from dreaming. The 23-year-old aspires to be in the Indian T20I team and aspires to play ODI as well and the T20 World Cup too.

Jaiswal said,

“My dream is to play the T20 World Cup, but I try to focus on my game and will wait for my time.”

At the time, Jaiswal is not the first choice in the Indian team for the ODI and T20Is, but he aims to make it one day. In the recently concluded ODI series against South Africa, he smashed a century in the third ODI, helping the team to win the series.

The dream does not end here. Jaiswal also stated that he is willing to lead the Indian team in the future.

“Yes, if I get a chance, I would like to lead India.”

When it comes to captaincy, Jaiswal might not be the first name in many minds, but he is trying his best to achieve this in the future.

Currently, the captaincy structure in the Indian team is clear: Shubman Gill is leading the ODI and Test teams, while Suryakumar Yadav is leading the T20I team. But the IPL often writes new stories, and so can Jaiswal. After Sanju Samson left the franchise, the Rajasthan Royals need a new captain, and this is where Yashasvi Jaiswal could come in.
