Virat Kohli Triple Century: The final match of the three-match ODI series between India and South Africa will be played in Visakhapatnam on December 6th, Saturday, at the ACA–VDCA Cricket Stadium. The series is currently tied at 1-1, making this match a do-or-die for both teams. All eyes will once again be on King Kohli, who is in tremendous form in the ongoing ODI series against South Africa. By scoring two consecutive centuries, Kohli has shown that when he is in rhythm, he can decimate any bowler in the world. Now, in the third ODI, he has a great opportunity to repeat an amazing record he had 7 years ago to his name.

In the opener ODI of the series against South Africa, Virat played a brilliant innings of 135 runs, leading India to victory by 17 runs. In the second match as well, he scored a century of 102 runs, although the team suffered a defeat. After scoring two consecutive centuries, Virat is now at a historic juncture where another century will place him in the list of special players in ODI history – a hat-trick of consecutive centuries.

Virat Kohli To Repeat The Feat For The Second Time

In his career, Kohli has only scored three consecutive centuries in ODIs once, and he achieved this feat against the West Indies in 2018. If now he repeats this achievement by scoring a century in the final match against South Africa in the 3rd ODI, then he will complete his second hat-trick of centuries in his career. So far, only Babar Azam holds the record for scoring a hat-trick of centuries in ODIs twice. The first time was in 2016 and the second time in 2022. If Virat manages to do this, he will become the second player after Babar to achieve this record twice in ODI history.

Interestingly, one of Kohli’s centuries in the hat-trick against the West Indies in 2018 came in Visakhapatnam itself, where he scored an unbeaten 157 runs. Now, 7 years later, the same ground is giving him a golden opportunity to repeat history.
