Travis Head Century: The Australian team displayed a dominant performance on the third day of the fifth Ashes Test match, which is being played at the Sydney Cricket Ground. England scored 384 runs in their first innings, and in response to that, Australia reached 281 for 3 wickets by lunch. The hero of this magnificent performance was Travis Head, who scored his third century of the series, putting immense pressure on the English bowlers.

Australia started the day at 166 for 2 wickets. The team is already leading the series 3-1 and has secured their hold on the Ashes 2025-26 trophy. Despite this, the batters showed no complacency. Travis Head batted with confidence from the start, read the ball well, chose his shots wisely, and steadily accumulated runs.

Although England did try to fight back at times. Travis Head was given a life at 121 runs when his catch was dropped at the boundary. This proved costly for England, as Head looked even more confident afterward and continued to score runs.

England missed another opportunity when they took a DRS review against nightwatchman Michael Neser. The bowler thought Neser was out LBW, but the video clearly showed the ball pitching outside the line. This also exhausted England’s last review.

However, Brydon Carse later dismissed Neser. Neser scored 24 runs off 90 balls and played a valuable supporting role. Neser edged a delivery from Carse, and the wicketkeeper took the catch. Following this, Australian captain Steve Smith came out to bat.

At lunch, Travis Head was unbeaten on 162, and Steve Smith was supporting him on 16. Australia was now only 103 runs behind England, and their grip on the match was strengthening.

Overall, the day belonged to Australia. Travis Head’s magnificent innings demonstrated why he has been one of the most reliable batsmen in this series. If Australia continues to play in this manner, they could win this Test match as well and end the series on a high note.
