Sunil Gavaskar Angry : The Men in Blue won the third T20I against South Africa on December 14, Sunday, at Dharamshala, taking a lead of 2-1 in the five-match T20I series, but as the days pass, concern about Suryakumar Yadav and Shubman Gill also rises.
In the third T20I too, both the Indian captain and vice captain failed to perform. Shubman Gill scored 28 runs off 28 balls, while on the other hand Suryakumar Yadav scored 12 runs off 11 balls. For once Gill’s form can be ignored, but Indian captain Suryakumar didn’t score a single fifty in 2025.

In IPL 2025, Suryakumar Yadav scored 700 runs for the Mumbai Indians; however, his form in international cricket has seen a major dip, averaging less than 15 in T20Is this year. The 35-year-old in the third T20I against South Africa once again failed while playing his favorite pickup shot.
Sunil Gavaskar Angry On Suryakumar Yadav

Former India captain Sunil Gavaskar didn’t mince his words as he gave a piece of advice to Suryakumar. He said that the Indian captain should look to keep the pickup shot in the “cold storage” as of now.
He said,
“It has been a very, very productive shot for him. Now, when you are not in form, it’s only gone up in the air instead of going the distance and well inside the boundary. So maybe, until he starts to get going, he should look to keep that shot in cold storage.”

“Because it’s getting him out, and India doesn’t require Suryakumar Yadav to score only 12 runs.”
The Indian captain has now played 21 innings without smashing a half century for India in T20Is.
