Shubman Gill WTC: Shubman Gill’s bat has been consistently producing runs in the Test Cricket and is now very close to breaking Pakistan’s star batsman Babar Azam’s record. Gill has a golden opportunity to make history in the upcoming South Africa Test series. If he scores just 290 runs, he will surpass Babar Azam to become the number-one Asian batter in WTC history.
Shubman Gill WTC: India Top Run-Scorer

Shubman Gill is currently India’s leading run-scorer in the World Test Championship (WTC). He has scored 2,839 runs in 39 matches so far, placing him 10th on the overall list. Former Pakistan captain Babar Azam, on the other hand, has amassed 3,129 runs in the WTC, ranking seventh. Currently, Babar Azam is Asia’s top run-scorer, but Gill is poised to dethrone him.
Big Opportunity Ahead Of Captain Shubman Gill

Captain Shubman Gill could get a chance to play four innings in the two-Test series against South Africa. If we look at his current Test cricket form, it wouldn’t be wrong to say that Gill could easily reach the 300-run mark in this series. Doing so would not only surpass Babar Azam but also make him Asia’s most successful batsman in WTC history.

While talking about the top run-scorers in the World Test Championship, England’s Joe Root tops the list. He has scored 6,080 runs so far, while Australia’s Steve Smith is in second place with 4,278 runs.
