If we talk about the match, then West Indies’ situation doesn’t look good at the moment. New Zealand captain Mitchell Santner won the toss and elected to bowl first—and the decision proved to be absolutely correct for the Kiwis. John Campbell was out for just 4 runs; after that, wickets kept falling in the 10th, 12th, and 15th overs, and someone was getting out one after another.

West Indies was 86/5 in 16 overs. Jamieson, Nathan Smith, and Mitchell Santner destroyed the WI batting.

But the batter who stood like a wall for the West Indies was Shai Hope. Justin Greaves stood at the crease with him, but Hope was mostly responsible for the run-scoring.

Even though West Indies’ innings was faltering, Shai Hope made history today, achieving the milestone of 6000 ODI runs—and that too in such style, with such consistency.

The West Indies posted a score of 247 runs, and in response the Kiwis need to chase this target if they still want to dominate in the series.
