Salman Ali Agha: Pakistan skipper opens up on the team’s performance against Bangladesh and looks forward to the final against India.
The Asia Cup 2025 has got their finalists in the form of India and Pakistan. On September 25, Pakistan beats Bangladesh by 11 runs and secured their place in the finals with the Men In Blue.
Bangladesh looked quite strong at the start, but after a while they lost their wickets at regular intervals, one after the other; the Pakistan team’s bowlers were quite dominant over the opposition team. Hence, Salman Ali Agha’s team won the game and locked their place in the finals of the Asia Cup 2025.
Salman Ali Agha Lauds His Team

After the match, at the conference, the Pakistan skipper Salman stated that his team played really well. However, he also expected that there are still some areas where improvement is needed, highlighting Shaheen Afridi’s importance in the team.
He said,
“If you win these kinds of games, then we must be a special team. Everyone played really well. There is still some improvement needed in our batting, but we will work on that. Shaheen is a special player—he always does what the team needs from him, and I am very happy for him.”
Shaheen Afridi was named Player of the Match against Bangladesh, as he took 3 wickets, giving away just 17 runs.
“We were probably 15 runs short”: Salman Ali Agha

Further, he stated that although they were some runs short, the way Pakistani bowlers bowled and created pressure on the opposition team was outstanding.
He said,
“We were probably 15 runs short, but the way we bowled up front helped us create pressure. If you bowl like this with the new ball, more often than not you will win games.”
