Rohit Virat ODI WC 2027: Will the Indian senior players Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma play the ODI World Cup 2027? It’s a question that scares every Rohit-Virat fan, which the Indian team management still has not answered properly. Despite these things, the newly appointed Indian ODI captain, Shubman Gill, was asked about the same, if his teammates will be considered till the ODI World Cup 2027 or not.
The Indian star duo has already retired from Tests and T20Is; ODI is the only format where fans will be witnessing them in the Indian jersey and on the field after the IPL 2025. They will be seen in action soon against Australia in the upcoming ODI series, which is all set to commence on October 19 in Australia.
Shubman Gill On Rohit, Virat ODI WC 2027 Future

Without speaking of many things and confusing everyone, the newly appointed captain, Shubman Gill, stated that both Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are part of their plans in the upcoming ODI World Cup 2027.
He said,
“Absolutely. The experience these two have and the matches they’ve won for India—very few match their record. Players of such skill, quality, and experience are very few in the world. On that front, we are definitely looking at them.”
Further, Gill stated that he was told about the ODI captaincy a bit earlier than the official announcement.

He said,
“It was announced after the first Test against the West Indies (in Ahmedabad), but I got to know about it a bit earlier. I’m very excited to lead my country in ODI format, and yes, the last few months have been very exciting for me. But I’m really looking forward to what the future has. I want to stay as much as possible in the present and don’t really want to look back on what I’ve been able to achieve or what we as a team have been able to achieve. Just want to look forward and win everything that we have in the upcoming months.”
