Rishabh Pant Ruled Out: The Indian wicketkeeper batter Rishabh Pant has been ruled out of the three-match ODI series against New Zealand, which is set to commence on Sunday, January 11, due to an injury.
Rishabh Pant Ruled Out

Just before the first ODI, Pant faced a setback as he was hit just above his waist while batting against throwdown specialists. Soon after Pant was hit, he looked in extreme pain and was attended by the Indian team’s support staff and other team members, including Indian head coach Gautam Gambhir.
The injury turned out to be a bit serious, due to which he is now ruled out of the whole New Zealand series. Pant has now left the Indian camp, and BCCI on Sunday has now named Dhruv Jurel as a replacement for injured Pant.
The BCCI, in an official release, stated,
“Wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant felt a sudden onset of discomfort in his right lateral abdominal area while batting in the nets during India’s practice session on Saturday afternoon at the BCA Stadium, Vadodara.”
“He was taken for MRI scans immediately, and the BCCI Medical Team had a detailed discussion with an expert on his clinical and radiological findings. Pant has been diagnosed with a side strain and is subsequently ruled out of the ODI series.”
