Ravindra Jadeja In RR: The thing that was previously just a report has now been confirmed on November 15, Saturday. It has been officially confirmed that Ravindra Jadeja has been traded from five-time champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) to Rajasthan Royals for INR 14 crore. In the IPL 2025 edition, CSK retained Jadeja for INR 18 crore; however, now the amount has been decreased.

Apart from Jadeja, Sam Curran also moved to Rajasthan Royals in exchange for Sanju Samson. After the official announcement, CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan broke silence on the franchise’s decision to let go of Jadeja, who was a key part of the team for a long time. The player who led them to the 2023 winning trophy by smashing 10 runs off the last two balls at the Narendra Modi Stadium.

Viswanathan confirmed that CSK management spoke to Jadeja, and once everything was comfortable with everyone, they went ahead with the deal.
He said,
“This decision has been taken by the team management, and it is a very tough decision, leaving out Jaddu, who has been responsible for the success of CSK over the years. It was probably one of the toughest decisions the CSK had to take as team management had to take. Considering the transition of the CSK at this point in time, the team management took the toughest decision.”

The CSK official also stated that during the conversation with Jadeja, Jadeja felt that he’s at the end of his career and can take a break from the five-time champions CSK and can go somewhere else.
Viswanathan said,
“See, when I spoke to Jadeja, he was also very clear that there is an opportunity for him because he also felt that he is at the far end of his career in white ball. So he also felt that he could have a break.”
“We have certain players who are at the far end of their careers, and it is very important for CSK to build a team in the next couple of years, and since this is a mini auction, we don’t have the opportunity to get the best of the Indian batsmen.”
“See, emotionally the fans will be very upset because they have already got a lot of messages from the fans. But taking into account the current status of the team composition, the think tank of the CSK cricket management felt the need for change, and I am sure that in the years to come the CSK will be maintaining the same kind of consistency and also performing well.”
