PM Modi Met Womens Team: On November 2, 2025, the Indian Women’s cricket team etched their name in the history of Indian Women’s Cricket as they clinched the World Cup 2025 title against South Africa in the ICC Women’s World Cup for the first time. Celebrations are still going on across the country, marking the victory of Team India, which defeated South Africa by 52 runs at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. Following this victory, the Champions Indian women’s team arrived in New Delhi on Wednesday, November 5, and met Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The Indian Women team arrived in Delhi at 4 p.m. and went directly to the Prime Minister’s residence at 7 p.m., Lok Kalyan Marg. Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur was present with the 2025 World Cup trophy. Coach Amol Mazumdar, the new BCCI President Mithun Manhas, and all 16 players were present to meet PM Narendra Modi. The Indian women’s team met the Prime Minister in the same hall where the Rohit Sharma-led men’s team met with the Prime Minister after winning the T20 World Cup 2024 last year.
PM Modi Receives A Special Gift From Champions

During the meeting, the champion team presented PM Modi with a very special gift. They presented him with a jersey with the name “NaMo” written on it, which featured the names and signatures of all the players. PM Modi also posed for a photo with the jersey and the World Cup 2025 trophy and praised the women’s team’s success. The Prime Minister stated that this victory represents not just a tournament but the beginning of a new era in women’s cricket, one that will inspire generations in the coming future.

During the meeting, Deepti Sharma, who was named “Player of the Tournament,” shared memories with the PM about the 2017 World Cup final, when India lost the game to England. Deepti said that the Prime Minister’s inspiring words at that time boosted her confidence significantly. PM Modi also mentioned Deepti’s Instagram bio and her “Hanuman Ji tattoo,” where she stated that her faith and dedication are her greatest strengths.
Captain Harmanpreet Kaur also smiled and said that in 2017 she met the Prime Minister without the trophy, but this time it felt special to come as she won the trophy. During the conversation, Prime Minister Modi discussed with the players their hard work, training, and inspiration.
