The hero of the match was all-rounder Saim Ayub, who delivered a brilliant performance with both bat and ball. This match was an important part of the preparation for both teams ahead of the T20 World Cup 2026, but Pakistan clearly showed on their home ground that they can trouble any team with their spin bowling.

After winning the toss, Pakistan decided to bat first. Pakistan’s team start was not good, and Sahibzada Farhan was dismissed on the very first ball. After that, Saim Ayub and skipper Salman Agha steadied the innings. The two scored runs together and put the team in a strong position. Saim Ayub scored 40 runs off just 22 balls, including two sixes and three fours, whereas on the other hand Salman Agha played a quick innings of 39 runs, hitting several big shots.

In the middle overs, Australian spinner Adam Zampa bowled brilliantly. He took crucial wickets in consecutive overs and slowed down Pakistan’s scoring rate. In the last five overs, Pakistan could only manage 31 runs, and the entire team was bowled out for 168 runs in 20 overs. Zampa was the most successful bowler for Australia.

Chasing a target of 169 runs, the Australian team also had a poor start. Saim Ayub made an impact with the ball as well, dismissing both openers early. Travis Head played some good shots, but his innings didn’t last long. After that, Cameron Green struggled a bit and scored 36 runs, but he didn’t get much support from the other batsmen.

As the ball got older, batting became more difficult. Pakistan’s spin bowlers took control of the entire match. Abrar Ahmed bowled tightly, taking two wickets and conceding very few runs. Mohammad Nawaz and Shadab Khan also took a wicket each, dashing Australia’s hopes. The Australian team could only manage 146 runs in 20 overs and lost the match. After the match, Pakistan captain Salman Agha praised the entire team. He said that the batting started well and the team performed brilliantly in bowling. Meanwhile, Travis Head from the Australian side admitted that scoring runs became difficult after the ball softened.
