The controversy began as soon as KKR bought Mustafizur Rahman in the IPL 2026 auction. The matter went to such an extent that pressure mounted on the IPL and the board. In this situation, the BCCI took a major decision before the situation got worse.
Whopping Amount For Mushtafizur Rahman

In the IPL 2026 mini-auction held on December 16, 2025, KKR bought Bangladesh fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman for more than Rs 9.20 crore. He was the only Bangladeshi player to be sold in the auction. However, his inclusion in KKR sparked a huge controversy.

Franchise co-owner Shah Rukh Khan was also receiving threats. Considering the situation, the BCCI took a major decision and asked KKR to release Mustafizur from the squad.
Now the question is, which player will KKR include in the team in his place? Mustafizur’s fans will certainly be disappointed, but for now, the board’s focus is solely on ensuring that the IPL proceeds without any further controversy.
