After the photo and video went viral on social media, it was stated that MS really attended the game of the 1st ODI between India and South Africa. But the reality hits differently.

The photo that went viral on social media is from an old game at the same venue. It was the photo of the test clash between India and New Zealand back in the year 2023. At that time BCCI had shared a video from that match, with the crowd going crazy after seeing Dhoni on the ground.

If MS Dhoni had really attended the game of the 1st ODI, then he wouldn’t have escaped from the cameras. Before the game, MS Dhoni hosted a dinner for Virat Kohli, Ruturaj Gaikwad, and Rishabh Pant at his home.
