Mohammad Kaif Statement: Former Indian cricketer Mohammad Kaif stated that if the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 auction happened after the T20 World Cup 2026, then the Zimbabwe pacer Blessing Muzarabani would have gotten the highest bid of more than the 20 crore mark from the franchise. He is having an incredible season so far in the tournament, claiming nine wickets to his name in three group stage matches at an average of 7.88 and an economy rate of 5.91.
Mohammad Kaif Statement

Blessing Muzarabani is one player who played a crucial role in Zimbabwe’s wins over Australia and Sri Lanka in the group stage. He got the figures of 4-17 in the historic win over Australia, where he dismissed key players like Josh Inglis, Tim David, and some more.
Kaif stated that Muzarabani missed out on a massive paycheck just because the IPL 2026 auction was already conducted in December before the T20 World Cup 2026.
“Not Easy To Defeat Australia & Sri Lanka”: Mohammad Kaif

Talking on his YouTube channel, Kaif said,
“It is not an easy thing to defeat Australia and then Sri Lanka in their home. The match against Sri Lanka was a sellout one as well. So, to play in front of that home ground, and on a slow pitch, where Pakistan struggled to chase 176, Zimbabwe chased down 179. Zimbabwe showed how to play on that pitch.”
Further, he said,

“Blessing Muzarabani is an exceptional bowler. He will be targeted by IPL franchises in the future. He bowls in every phase of the game, with the new ball and the old. He is six feet eight inches; he also has height. If the IPL Auction was held after the World Cup, and with the way Muzarabani is bowling now, I can tell you with a guarantee that he would have fetched at least 20 crores in the IPL Auction. He is unlucky that the IPL Auction is already done.”
In the last few years, Muzarabani came into the team of Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) as a net bowler. In 2025, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) signed him as a temporary replacement for Lungi Ngidi.
