Kohli to Play Vijay Hazare: The Indian cricket star Virat Kohli, one of the legendary players in Indian cricket, is once again set to return back to domestic cricket. He is expected to play for Delhi in the upcoming Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26. This tournament is India’s premier 50-over domestic competition, and Kohli’s participation is considered a major morale booster for the Delhi team.
Recently, Kohli has focused solely on one international format, ODIs, as he has already retired from T20I and Test cricket. The BCCI has also advised contracted players to participate in domestic cricket, so his participation for Delhi is certainly a matter of great joy for both the team and fans.
Virat Kohli To Play Vijay Hazare Trophy

Kohli played a brilliant knock of 135 runs in the first ODI against South Africa in Ranchi, scoring the 52nd century of his career. Seeing his form, cricket fans are hoping he will display similar performances in domestic cricket as well. The final match of the current ODI series is scheduled for December 6 in Visakhapatnam. After this, Kohli will have plenty of time to join Delhi, as the Vijay Hazare Trophy begins in Ahmedabad on December 24.

However, it is not yet decided whether he will play all the matches or just a few matches. Both Delhi and the BCCI will make the final decision after considering his international commitments. It is also worth noting that Delhi’s seven league matches will run until January 8, while India’s ODI series against New Zealand begins on January 11.
Virat Kohli Experience & Impact On The Delhi Team

This is one of the iconic opportunities for the Delhi team, as the Indian star last played a 50-over domestic match for Delhi in 2013. Prior to that, he participated in the Vijay Hazare Trophy in the 2009-10 season and also captained the Delhi team. His return after so many years will be a great learning opportunity for the young players in the Delhi team.
Most of Delhi’s matches will be held in Bengaluru, while two matches will be played at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, which is also considered Kohli’s home ground, as he represents Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the IPL.
On the other hand, Delhi’s T20 team is currently playing in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and has won two out of four matches under the captaincy of Nitish Rana. In such an environment, Kohli’s experience will further strengthen Delhi’s 50-over team.
