KL Rahul Celebration: In the second ODI against New Zealand, KL Rahul smashed an iconic hundred, and the thing that stole everyone’s heart was Rahul’s way of celebrating the milestone. The second ODI was played between India and New Zealand on January 14, Wednesday. In the ODI Rahul batted in his favorite spot, which is No. 5, and once again proved to be India’s crisis man after saving the innings from collapsing.

In his knock, Rahul smashed a total of 11 boundaries and a six. He came in to bat at the time when India was in trouble and lost their four crucial wickets for just 118 runs with the quick dismissal of Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, Shreyas Iyer, and Virat Kohli. Rahul made the innings well, ensuring a good partnership with Ravindra Jadeja. He did a 73-run stand partnership with Jadeja before he was dismissed. After that, he added 57 runs with Nitish Kumar Reddy and ensured that India got to a decent score after the collapse.

Rahul smashed his century with a six on the final ball of the 49th over. Once he reached the milestone, he took his helmet off and the glove off his left hand before doing a celebration for his daughter.
This was not the first time he did this celebration; he first revealed this celebration in the Ahmedabad test last year against the West Indies.

KL started his career as an opener but now has become a finisher for the team in coming times. There has always been some criticism for his misuse; Rahul very well adapted to all the roles no matter which position he came to play. But once again he made management sure that he is the perfect No. 5 and they can show some faith in him.
The century against New Zealand in the second ODI was Rahul’s third hundred at No. 5, which has increased his average to 64.21 and strike rate close to 99.59. He has 1477 runs to his name in 33 matches at No. 5, and this knock was the first time an Indian scored an ODI century in Rajkot.
