Cariappa started his career playing cricket in the streets. That’s where his dream began—to one day play in a big stadium and wear his team’s jersey; he fulfilled that dream. Announcing his retirement, he wrote that cricket has given him a lot—the joy of victory and the pain of defeat. All these experiences have made him a better person.

He stated that during his cricketing journey, he faced pressure and pain and made many sacrifices, but the joy he received from cricket is unmatched. Even though he will no longer play cricket, his love for the game will always remain.

KC Cariappa suddenly came into the limelight in the year 2015 when the then-reigning IPL champions Kolkata Knight Riders bought him for Rs 2.40 crore. The remarkable thing was that he was an uncapped player at the time. After receiving such a large sum, all eyes were on him.

Later, he joined the Kings XI Punjab team and played a total of 9 matches in the 2016 and 2017 IPL seasons, taking 7 wickets. He was also part of the Rajasthan Royals team; his IPL journey may not have been long, but it was certainly memorable.
