Abhishek Sharma: The Indian star batter Abhishek Sharma against Bangladesh on Wednesday, September 24, highlighted that his hard work and hours of practice in the net session are the result of his powerful knocks in the Asia Cup 2025. On the day of the game against Bangladesh in the Super 4, he was ranked No. 1 in T20Is, scored 75 runs off 37 balls with six fours and five sixes, and played a crucial role in India’s win of 41 runs, reaching the Asia Cup final. After scoring a half century against Pakistan in the Super 4, this was his second half century.
In the presentation ceremony where he was awarded with his second man of the match award in a row, he said,
“I was just doing my job. I have said before as well that I do not think much (while going in to bat) and go with the flow.”
“If it is in my range, even if it is the first ball, I go for it and try to get the powerplay (going) for my team.”
Abhishek Sharma On Approach Against Bangladesh
When asked about his approach against Bangladesh, he said,
“In a few matches, I wanted to go (after the first ball). There are certain bowlers who want to go for a wicket off the first ball. In this match, because this was a new pitch, I wanted to check how it was doing. It was swinging and seeming.”
“I always try to go with the field, because there are certain shots I back really hard. I see the field and then go for the shots. I am not someone who goes all-out like that.”

DID A LOT OF WORK IN PRACTICE SESSIONS : ABHISHEK SHARMA

Further, the No. 1 T20I batter said,
“I have done a lot of work in practice sessions—I feel that is the time when batters get time to work on themselves.”
“I had a plan that if I have to play with such intent, I have to practice really hard for it. When you play too many shots in the nets, there are chances you can get out. It was in my mind not to get out while playing too many shots.”
Now, India is all set to play against Sri Lanka on September 26, Friday. As it is currently, it will be interesting to see with India who, between Pakistan and Bangladesh, will be clashing in the final with the Men in Blue.
