The second ODI match between India and Ireland women’s cricket team was played on January 12, 2025 at Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium. A strong batting performance was delivered by the Indian women’s team: Smriti Mandhana scored 73 runs off 54 balls, Pratika Rawal scored 67 runs off 61 balls, and Harleen Deol scored 89 runs off 85 balls. The person who stole the show in the match was Jemimah Rodrigues, who scored her maiden international hundred, scoring 102 runs off 91 balls.

The day belongs to the Indian team; a collective performance was seen from both the batters and bowlers. Deepti Sharma took 3 wickets, Priya Mishra took 2 wickets, and Titas Sadu and Sayali Satghare took a single wicket each. India won the match against Ireland by 116 runs.

The Ireland team tried their best but failed in front of the power-packed performance of the Women in Blue. Coulter Reilly scored 80 runs off 113 balls, missed her century, and got dismissed by Titas Sadhu. Sarah Forbes (38) and Laura Delany (37) were the only players who performed, and there wasn’t much fight from other players.

After the innings, Jemimah Rodrigues, on her century, said that she had been waiting for a long time for this moment and thanked the team for giving her a chance at No. 4, and she was able to deliver.

“It has been a long wait to get this hundred. Glad that the team gave me a role at No. 4, and I could deliver.”

“Today, the important thing for me was to be (there) till the 50th over. Getting runs is not a problem; I am good at that, but staying till the end was important, and I’m glad I could do that. We can’t take any team lightly; we have followed domestic cricket here, and 390 has been chased.”

India won the game by a margin of 116 runs. The 3rd ODI will kick start on January 15, Wednesday, at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Rajkot.
