IND vs WI: The Shubman Gill-led team has defeated the West Indies by an innings and 140 runs in the first test at the Narendra Modi Stadium. The match ended in just three days, and the Indian players performed brilliantly with both bat and ball. The West Indies’ first innings was reduced to just 162 runs.
In response, Indian batters played fine knocks on both days and declared their innings at 448 for 5 on the third day. India’s batting was completely dominant, with not one but three Indian batsmen scoring centuries. Meanwhile, the West Indies batsmen failed to even reach a fifty.

The highlight of the Indian innings was Ravindra Jadeja’s unbeaten knock of 104 runs, showcasing his all-round performance with both bat and ball. Trailing by 286 runs, there were expectations that the West Indies would put up a fight in the second innings, but the Indian bowlers didn’t give them any chance to do so. By the second session of the third day, the visitors’ second innings also collapsed for just 146 runs. Alick Athanaze (38), Justin Graves (25), and Jayden Sales (22) held on for a while, but no batsman was able to rescue the team.

India’s bowlers came together to destroy the West Indies. Ravindra Jadeja – 4 wickets (plus a century with the bat), Mohammed Siraj – 3 wickets (lethal spell in the first innings), Kuldeep Yadav – 2 wickets. On the other hand, Jadeja’s performance was the biggest, playing the role of a true “match winner” with a century with the bat and 4 wickets with the ball. Jadeja was rewarded with the Player of the Match Award. With this win, India has taken a 1-0 lead in the two-match Test series.
