While chasing the score of 214 runs, the Indian top order once again failed to perform; Shubman Gill, Abhishek Sharma, and Suryakumar Yadav delivered a flop show. The Indian team didn’t look in great form while chasing this huge target against South Africa.

Indian vice-captain Shubman Gill went for a golden duck in the very first over before Abhishek Sharma was dismissed by an outswinger from Marco Jansen. Even captain Suryakumar Yadav couldn’t do much, edging a delivery behind to Proteas keeper Quinton de Kock after scoring just five runs. The only batter who did something was Tilak Varma, but his efforts weren’t enough that India could have won the game. In response, India was all out for 162 runs.

The Proteas team was asked to bat first; in response, they posted a score of 213 for four in 20 overs. Credit goes to Quinton de Kock’s incredible knock of 90 runs. De Kock hit seven sixes in his knock, while Donovan Ferreira (30 off 16) and David Miller (20 off 12) helped South Africa to 213/4 in 20 overs. Indian pacer Arshdeep Singh had a night to forget after he gave seven wides in an over.

Now it will be interesting to see whether India will be making a comeback in the 3rd T20I against South Africa. The third T20I between both the teams will be played on December 14 at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium, Dharamshala.
