IND vs PAK: Once again, the Indian team defeated Pakistan, but this time it was the women’s team; they performed amazingly in their second clash of the Women’s ODI World Cup. Pakistan’s captain Fatima Sana won the toss and decided to bowl first; Sidra Amin’s classic knock of 81 runs went to waste against India in front of the Indian bowlers’ spell. From India’s side, Deepti Sharma played a key role in keeping the winning streak alive by scoring 88 runs against Pakistan at Colombo on Sunday.
Along with this, Indian women maintained a 5-0 record against Pakistan in the Women’s World Cup. The current record for India’s ODI victory over Pakistan is 12-0. It is not that Pakistan did not try; they bowled out India for 247 runs, the credit for which goes to Diana Baig, who took 4 wickets, and with the bat Sidra Amin contributed 81 runs for her team, but Amin did not get that support from her team, and because of that Pakistan was all out for 159 in just 43 overs.
IND vs PAK: Kranti Gaud & Deepti Sharma’s Iconic Spells Stole The Show

Kranti Gaud and Deepti Sharma played a great role in bowling, taking away 3 wickets each. Chasing a target of 248 runs, Indian women restricted Pakistan to 26 runs for 3 wickets in just 12 overs, and it was started by Kranti Gaud. A partnership of 69 runs was formed between Sidra and Natalia, but another iconic spell from Gaud sent them back to the pavilion.
With this win, Indian women are now the table toppers with two wins and 4 points, while Pakistan is at the sixth spot, as they have lost both their games so far.
IND vs PAK: Handshake Controversy Continues

One thing that had grabbed attention in the men’s Asia Cup 2025 was seen again in the women’s World Cup clash between India and Pakistan. The captains of both the teams did not shake hands either before or after the game.
If we look at India’s next clash in the ongoing tournament, then it will be against South Africa Women on October 9th in Visakhapatnam. It will be interesting to see whether the Women in Blue will be able to maintain their winning streak or not.
