Harshit Rana Injury: The Indian camp awaits the update of Washington Sundar ahead of the T20 World Cup 2026, but before that, the defending champions received a fresh injury in the camp in the form of Harshit Rana as he walked off the field midway through the warm-up match against South Africa at Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai. In the warm-up game, Harshit bowled only a single over, giving away 16 runs.

After that the pacer was seen limping off the field immediately after completing the opening over. He was seen in discomfort when he was bowling the over as he pulled out of his delivery stride on two different occasions. Following, he was seen clutching his knee in distress, and it was then that he went off the field, ending his participation in the game.

As of now there is no official statement from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). Sundar suffered from injury in the first ODI against New Zealand and is yet to join the Indian camp for the World Cup, and it has to be seen whether he can recover in time or not.
Tilak Varma has recovered from injury and joined the Indian team for the warm-up game against South Africa, where he smashed 25 runs before getting bowled out by Marco Jansen and even bowled one over, giving away just nine runs.
In the warm-up game against South Africa, Suryakumar Yadav & Co. defeated the Proteas by 30 runs.
