Harleen Deol Controversy: UP Warriorz registered their first win of the WPL 2026 campaign, all thanks to Harleen Deol’s power-packed performance. She smashed a total of 64 runs not out against the Mumbai Indians and was named Player of the Match for her incredible match performance. The innings was much more special because in the last game against Delhi Capitals she was retired out, and after that bounced back stronger.
Harleen Deol Controversy

Harleen Deol said,
“Feels good; happy for the team for the first win. Actually yesterday too I was batting well. As you saw today, Chloe (Tryon) can change the scenario. I just took it that way. She’s someone who can hit big, but that didn’t go our way. That’s how I look at it.”
While talking about her innings, she said,

“Nothing different today. I just got a few boundary balls; sometimes it’s just your day. Normal prep for me. I was batting well yesterday also; there’s no point to keep stressing on that thing (retired out). The first two games didn’t go my way. I was overhitting earlier. This wasn’t the wicket to do that.”
After such an incredible performance by Harleen Deol against the Mumbai Indians, UP Warriorz captain Meg Lanning praised her team’s performance and highlighted Kaur’s dominance.
Lanning said,

“Lots of positives in the first three games, not as consistent. Bounced back well tonight to beat a good MI (Mumbai Indians) team. It’s been a learning curve for me and the team. We’ve played good cricket but not as consistently.”
The UP Warriorz captain also revealed the conversations within the camp that changed things. She said,
“We’ve had chats on our approach. The belief and confidence were there. I had a quick chat with Deol; she took yesterday really well. She showed what she can do in the format; I hope it gives her confidence.”
The next match of UP Warriorz will be played on January 17 against Mumbai Indians. Now it will be interesting to see how the upcoming campaign of UP Warriorz will be going.
