“Humaray Liye Koi Maafi Nahi Hoti”: Haris Rauf Emotional

After this amazing spell of his against Sri Lanka, he opened up on his recent poor patch—especially in the Asia Cup 2025 final against India, where he gave 50 runs in just 3.4 overs, becoming the most expensive bowler in that match for Pakistan. After that, he also served a two-match suspension for his offensive gestures in the tournament.
In the post-match presentation against Sri Lanka, Haris Rauf said,
“Humaray liye koi maafi nahi hoti (there is no forgiveness for us); we are expected to perform like robots, but we are human beings, and we can have bad days.”

The pacer looked very emotional, stating that even the best players’ plans can fail on some days.
He said,
“The main thing is you don’t give up. You don’t die from a bad day. We just keep belief in our skills and keep on working on rectifying mistakes, but as a professional cricketer, any bowler can have a bad day.”

Talking about the criticism, Rauf asked the fans to recognize the effort every player put in in terms of results, but sometimes results don’t come as they are expected.
He said,
“No player likes to be criticized; yes, everyone has his opinion, but like I said, for us, there is no forgiveness. You might have 10 good matches and one bad game, and everyone will remember the bad game.”
Further, he talked about his wish to play Test cricket for the team, stating that he’s always ready; as soon as the selectors give him a call, he will be available to play.

“I want to play Tests also for Pakistan. I am ready whenever the selectors of the Board want me for tests, but my only point is to inform us in advance so that we can go and prepare for red-ball cricket, where you have to bowl a lot of overs in a day.”
In the ongoing three-match ODI series between Pakistan and Sri Lanka, Pakistan is leading with a margin of 1-0. The second ODI will be played on November 13, Thursday, at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
