Glenn Phillips Warn Bumrah: Ahead of the T20 World Cup 2026 finals against India and New Zealand at the Narendra Modi Stadium on March 8, Sunday, the Kiwi batter has released a warning to the Indian team. Every opposition team threatens when the Jasprit Bumrah topic comes up, and in the last two matches, he came up as a match winner for the team.
He dismissed Shimron Hetmyer and Roston Chase in a single over against the West Indies in a knockout game. In the semifinal against England on Thursday, he dismissed the England skipper Harry Brook, and the team lost the game by seven runs.
“Jasprit Bumrah Can Have A Bad Day”: Glenn Phillips

Now, the final stage is set, and it feels like New Zealand’s explosive batter Glenn Phillips is not threatened by facing Bumrah at all.
He said,
“He’s human as well. He is allowed to have a bad day, as are the rest of us. So hopefully we have a good day against him.”
“Obviously we had a really good trip against him in the bilateral series as well, but he’s a class bowler. “He’s got so many variations. He hits the block hole at the death incredibly well.”
Glenn Phillips Warn Bumrah

Every opposition team tries to not give wickets to Bumrah and attack him; the same was done by England’s Jacob Bethell and Sam Curran, which costed them the match. In the last two overs Bumrah gave away just 14 runs, and the England team lost the game by a small margin of 7 runs. If they would have tried smashing some boundaries, then there might be chances that England would have won the game.
After analyzing all these things in the semifinal game, Philips has made it very clear that his team won’t be doing the same.
He said,

“It’s [defensive approach against Bumrah] not necessarily going to be that, per se. As I said, a bowler is allowed to miss, and if he happens to miss, we do have to put it away. That also means that if he does bowl, well, we have to accommodate for other things and adapt.”
