Gautam Gambhir took over as India’s head coach in 2024, but since his arrival, Team India’s performance in Test cricket has steadily declined. Vikas wrote,
“There was a time when we used to win even in away conditions. Now we’re struggling to save matches at home. This is what happens when you force changes when they’re not needed.”

Vikas’ post is believed to be related to Virat Kohli’s Test retirement. Gautam Gambhir is said to have played a big role in Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma’s Test retirements. Both senior players still wanted to play Test cricket, but they abruptly announced their retirement before the England tour, sparking numerous speculations.
