Ex-RCB Star On Shubman Gill: Former Indian cricketer Varun Aaron criticized the people who are questioning Shubman Gill’s place in the T20I setup after he played an incredible knock in the fourth T20I against Australia. The fourth T20I was played at the Carrara Oval in Gold Coast on November 7, Thursday. The opening batter Shubman Gill scored 46 runs off 39 deliveries; this was the highest score from the Indian team. The Men In Blue secured a 48-run win, claiming a 2-1 lead in the five-match T20I series.

After getting a decent start in the powerplay with Abhishek Sharma, the batter started the innings well before getting dismissed in the 15th over. After Shubman’s dismissal, the Indian team collapsed, adding only 43 runs in the last six overs, losing six wickets.

Shubman’s place and position both are being questioned in the T20I format in recent times, and his recent performances are giving more chance to the critics to raise questions on him.
Defending Indian vice captain Shubman Gill, Varun Aaron said,
“The thing with Gill is that when conditions don’t favor batting, you can always put your money on Shubman Gill because of his technique, because of his poise, and because of his game awareness. He knows exactly what wicket offers and what kind of stroke play, and he plays according to that. So you need somebody like him in the T20 setup.”
“Never Makes Sense….”: Varun Aaron

Further, Varun Aaron added,
“When people raise questions about Shubman Gill being in the T20 setup, it never makes sense to me because this is what he gives you when everybody else fails on a wicket that is slightly difficult compared to the other wickets in this whole series. He gives you a 46, which is worth its weight in gold.”
Currently, the Indian team is leading in the five-match T20I series by a margin of 2-1. Now it will be interesting to see what the result of the fifth T20I between Australia and India on November 8, Saturday.
