Padikkal plays for Karnataka in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26 and was seen in a classic knock from the very first match of the tournament. On December 24th, against Jharkhand, he smashed 147 runs off 118 balls, which included 10 fours and 7 sixes. His bat didn’t stop there; on December 26th, against Kerala, he played another powerful innings of 124 runs off 137 balls. By scoring two consecutive centuries, Padikkal showed just how dangerous his form is in the ongoing series.

In the third match against Tamil Nadu, a hat-trick of centuries was expected from him. He got off to a good start, but this time he couldn’t play a big innings and was dismissed for 22 runs. However, this small setback didn’t last long. In the very next match, Padikkal returned to his old form and scored an incredible century against Puducherry.

In the fourth match against Puducherry, Padikkal smashed 113 runs off 116 balls. His innings included 10 fours and 4 sixes, putting Karnataka in a strong position. In this way, within a week, he became the headache for the bowling attacks of Jharkhand, Kerala, and Puducherry.

So far in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26, Padikkal has played four matches, scoring 406 runs at an average of 101.50 and a strike rate of approximately 147. Looking at this RCB batsman’s form, it’s clear that the bowlers are going to face even more difficulties in the upcoming matches.

This knocks of him might get him a call up for the upcoming ODI series against New Zealand. Now, it will be interesting to see whether Ajit Agarkar led team will be thinking him for the ODI team selection or not.
