Dallas Mavericks star Cooper Flagg has confirmed his relationship with Duke women’s basketball center Arianna Roberson. The confirmation came via an Instagram Story post on Thursday, shared from their vacation in the Turks and Caicos.
Relationship Revealed During Vacation
Flagg shared a picture of the couple kissing while enjoying their getaway in the Turks and Caicos. Roberson reposted the image to her own Instagram Story, adding two black heart emojis to signify their relationship. Roberson also shared a TikTok video showcasing moments from their vacation, captioned with “carry on.”
Rumors Preceded Confirmation
Speculation about their relationship had been circulating after both Flagg and Roberson posted individual photos from the same resort at the same time. The couple was also seen together at Cameron Indoor Stadium in February, attending Duke’s dominant 101-64 victory over Syracuse.
Shared Time at Duke and NBA Draft Success
Flagg and Roberson were both freshmen at Duke during the 2024-25 academic year, overlapping for a single season. Flagg subsequently declared for the NBA Draft after leading Duke to the Final Four. He was later selected as the No. 1 overall pick in the NBA Draft.
Rookie Season and Family Connections
Despite the Dallas Mavericks missing the playoffs during Flagg’s rookie year, he achieved significant personal success, earning NBA Rookie of the Year honors. He averaged 21 points, 6.7 rebounds, 4.5 assists, and 1.2 steals per game over 70 games. Arianna Roberson averaged 8 points per game on 41.6% shooting for Duke in 33 games. Her older brother, Andre Roberson, had a seven-season NBA career, primarily with the Oklahoma City Thunder.
