Bangladesh out of World Cup: For nearly three weeks, the ICC and Bangladesh were at loggerheads over the T20 World Cup 2026. Ultimately, Bangladesh had to concede defeat, and their team was eliminated from the T20 World Cup. Now, more bad news has arrived for Bangladesh. Their Under-19 team’s journey in the U19 World Cup 2026 has ended. A loss against England in the Super Six stage eliminated Bangladesh from the semi-final race. After being knocked out of the tournament, Bangladesh has now leveled serious allegations against the ICC, citing discriminatory scheduling.
Bangladesh Out Of World Cup

The U19 World Cup is currently being played in Zimbabwe and Namibia. Bangladesh played a total of four matches in the tournament, winning only one. They lost two matches, while one match was abandoned due to rain. As soon as they lost the crucial Super Six match against England, Bangladesh’s hopes of reaching the semi-finals were dashed.
Bangladesh team officials believe that along with poor performance, flawed scheduling and constant travel also hampered the team’s performance. Bangladesh’s Game Development Coordinator, Habibul Bashar, told ‘The Daily Star’ that not only strategy, but also match calculations and an extremely tiring travel schedule were major problems for the team. He said that although it might sound like an excuse, this issue cannot be ignored.
Allegations Against The ICC

Bashar alleged that the ICC did not allow air travel during this tournament, forcing teams to travel by bus. Players had to travel for 4 hours at times, and sometimes even 9-10 hours by bus. The continuous long journeys affected the players’ recovery and fitness, which was reflected in their performance on the field.

However, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) tried to manage the situation at their level. After the warm-up matches, the BCB spent its own money to send the team by internal flights for the matches against India and New Zealand to reduce player fatigue. Despite this, the match against India was affected by rain, while the match against New Zealand was completely washed out, further complicating Bangladesh’s situation.
After these matches, the team had to undertake another long bus journey back to Harare, where they defeated the USA to qualify for the Super Six stage. However, a loss in their next match in Bulawayo on January 26th resulted in their elimination from the tournament. Bangladesh has now raised concerns with the ICC regarding this extensive travel and scheduling, expressing their dissatisfaction with the tournament’s organization.
