AUS vs IND 4th T20I: The Indian ODI and Test skipper Shubman Gill is going through a rough phase in the ongoing T20I series between Australia and India. In the first T20I he scored 37 runs unbeaten, 5 runs in the second T20I, and 15 runs in the third T20I. In the Asia Cup 2025, he made his comeback in the T20I format but failed to show any clinical performance since then. As a result, his performance has been subject to significant criticism.

“It does take time (to make adjustments), and it’s through trial and error that you really realize exactly what you need to do to make those adjustments, and playing in different conditions as well. Shubman is a ridiculously talented batter. He’s got an amazing technique. He will quickly learn to navigate the different formats, as someone with his high skill level typically adapts rapidly.

“It definitely is a challenge, and the more you do it, the better you get at really understanding the little adjustments that you have to make to your technique, to your game plan, and to your mindset around each format to be able to then get into the best version of you every time you have to make that adjustment.”

In the first series as captain against England, Shubman Gill led the team to level up the series, where Gill scored 754 runs in 10 innings. Whereas if we look at his record in the 2025 Asia Cup, he has scored only 127 runs in seven matches, where India won the title in the UAE.
