Arshdeep Singh, the star bowler, struggled to make his place in the two T20I games against Australia. The leading wicket-taker in T20I showed his capabilities in the crucial third T20I against Australia, where he replaced Harshit Rana in the playing XI. In the third T20I, he dismissed Travis Head, Marcus Stoinis, and Josh Inglis with his incredible spells and finished the game with the figures of 3-35.

Talking about this, Morne Morkel stated that the team management knows what Arshdeep brings to the table, and this is the reason he has been kept in the matches where he stands in the scheme of things.

He said,

“There will always be disappointment in terms of players with selection, but that is something that at times, as a player, is uncontrollable. From our side, we just keep on asking them to work hard and train hard and be ready for when they do get the opportunity. There are limited games leading into the T20 World Cup. It is important for us to see how guys react in certain situations under pressure.”

“Arshdeep Singh Is Experienced”: Morne Morkel

Further, he said,

“I think Arshdeep is experienced. He understands that, you know, that there is also a bigger picture where we are trying different combinations. He knows he is a world-class bowler; he has taken the most wickets for us in the powerplay. We know how valuable he is to the team.”

In the year 2025 so far, Arshdeep Singh has played only six out of 15 T20Is. In that the pacer has picked wickets in all the games, which resulted in a tally of 9 total wickets at an average of 23.33. Currently, the series is leveled at 1-1.

Now, it has to be seen whether Arshdeep Singh will get a chance in the fourth T20I against Australia or not.
