Alyssa Healy Retirement

The 35-year-old announced the retirement news on Tuesday during an appearance on the Willow Talk podcast, where she mostly makes appearances. Healy confirmed that she has been thinking about retirement from months back, stating that the competitive edge is slowly declining at the highest level.
She said,
“It’s with mixed emotions that the upcoming India series will be my last for Australia. I’m still passionate about playing for Australia, but I’ve somewhat lost that competitive edge that’s kept me driven since the start, so the time feels right to call it a day.”
Further, she stated,
“It’s been a long time coming. The last few years have been more mentally draining than anything else. There have been injuries, and it’s getting harder to keep diving back into the well when it’s not as full as it used to be.”
Alyssa Healy Illustrious Career

Healy is considered one of the legendary players in the Australian Women’s Cricket Team. She has played a total of 300 international matches, scoring over 7,000 runs across all formats. Behind the stumps, she has 275 dismissals to her name since making her debut as a teenager in 2010.
She was made the Australian captain in 2023 after Meg Lanning and had led the team to many historic wins. One of the most historic was made under her captaincy: a 16-0 whitewash against England.
Haely has been part of eight ICC World Cup-winning campaigns and has many records to her name. She even has the highest individual score in a World Cup final and the most dismissals by a wicketkeeper in women’s T20I.
