Top247 cornerback Ai’King Hall has officially flipped his commitment from the Oregon Ducks to the Miami Hurricanes, marking a significant recruiting victory for Miami’s secondary. This development follows another recent flip by five-star cornerback Donte Wright from Georgia to Miami, giving the Hurricanes two key wins over Oregon in this recruiting cycle.
Hall’s Impressive Rankings and Athleticism
Hall, a highly-rated prospect, stands at 6-foot and weighs 195 pounds. He is recognized as the No. 131 overall player and the No. 17 cornerback in the Class of 2027 by 247Sports. The 247Sports Composite further elevates his standing, placing him as the No. 73 overall player, the No. 9 cornerback, and the top prospect in Alabama for his class. Beyond his football prowess, Hall demonstrates considerable athletic talent as a track athlete, having clocked a 100-meter time of 10.88 seconds.
Miami’s Recruiting Momentum
The Miami Hurricanes’ cornerbacks coach, Terry Jefferson, played a pivotal role in securing Hall’s commitment. Jefferson made it clear during in-person visits that Hall was a priority for the program, even after Hall’s initial commitment to Oregon in early April. Hall’s decision to join Miami, alongside Wright and local prospect Sherrod Gourdine, significantly strengthens the Hurricanes’ cornerback class, positioning it as one of the nation’s strongest for the current recruiting cycle.
Miami’s Class of 2027 Rankings Boost
With Hall’s commitment, the Miami Hurricanes have seen their recruiting class rankings climb, reaching the No. 7 spot in the 247Sports Team Rankings. Hall is the 12th commitment and the seventh Top247 prospect to join Miami’s 2027 class. This class already features notable talents such as quarterback Israel Abrams, wide receiver Nick Lennear, offensive lineman Sean Tatum, defensive back Jaylyn Jones, running back Ty Keys, tight end Demarcus Deroche, offensive lineman Tyler Ford, and defensive lineman Josh Johnson, highlighting Miami’s strong recruiting efforts.
