The final match of IPL 2025 has been hosted by the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, which will be played on June 3. The BCCI has picked Mullanpur for Qualifier 1 and Eliminator, bypassing Mumbai and Kolkata. These venues have been selected keeping in mind the weather
IPL 2025 has now reached its last stage and all eyes were on where the playoffs and final matches will be played. It is now clear that the final match of this season will be played on June 3 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
This information has come to light after the recent meeting of the board. Apart from this, the Qualifier 2 match will also be played on June 1 at the same ground. That is, Ahmedabad will host another big match before the final.
On the other hand, for the Qualifier 1 and Eliminator matches, the board has chosen a new venue — Mullanpur, which is located in New Chandigarh, Punjab. Qualifier 1 is scheduled to take place on May 29 and Eliminator on May 30.
Weather played a big role in venue selection
The BCCI first took the weather into consideration while deciding the playoff grounds. In the last weeks of May, rains start in many parts of India, which can affect the matches. Therefore, cities were chosen where the weather is expected to be good and matches can be held easily.
This time old and big venues like Mumbai and Kolkata have been excluded, which is a bit of a shocking decision. But this shows that the board does not want to take any risk this time.
Schedule of the playoffs
• Qualifier 1: May 29 – Mullanpur
Eliminator: May 30 – Mullanpur
Qualifier 2: June 1 – Ahmedabad
• Final: 3 June – Ahmedabad
Now it will be interesting to see which teams will make it to the top 4 and which team will lift the trophy on June 3.
