Abhimanyu Easwaran Snub: Every aspiring cricketer dreams of playing for India once in their life, and the same was dreamt by Abhimanyu Easwaran also. The competition for making a debut on the Indian side has increased day by day, and it is very difficult for the selectors to pick all the deserving candidates. No matter how brilliant a squad the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) selects, there’s always some set of deserving players that misses out despite performing well in domestic cricket.
The same situation is faced by Abhimanyu Easwaran, the brilliant player in domestic cricket, who is yet to make his debut in Team India despite getting picked in the test cricket on many occasions.
“It Does Hurt……”: Abhimanyu Easwaran Snub

In the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy, Easwaran was part of the team but didn’t get the chance to play even a single game. Instead Sai Sudharsan made his debut, and Karun Nair made his much-anticipated comeback in the national team but failed to make an impact.
In a recent interview, Abhimanyu Easwarn talked about his snubs many times. He said,
“Yes, it does hurt sometimes. You put in all the effort and train hard, and the dream is to be in the middle, to perform, and to contribute to wins. But I’m fortunate to have a solid support system: my family, friends, and coach. They help me stay grounded and motivated. Right now, I’m in a good headspace and looking forward to Ranji season.”
Further, he said,
“I try to stay focused on things I can control. Work harder, train better. Yes, it feels bad sometimes, but that’s natural. The only solution is to keep improving. I’m working on a couple of new shots this season; I won’t reveal which ones (laughs), but hopefully, they’ll come off well. Playing for India is the biggest motivation. Even when I play for Bengal, I feel immense pride. So, that itself lifts me up.”
“Why Not Me?”: Abhimanyu Easwaran

Despite not getting a chance in the national team, Easwaran doesn’t lose hope. He believes that legends like Suryakumar Yadav and Michael Hussey also made their debut a bit late.
He said,
“I’m a big fan of Michael Hussey. Even before his Australia debut, he was consistently scoring in domestic cricket. His journey shows what perseverance can achieve. Even Suryakumar Yadav made his India debut after 30 and is now leading the team; it’s incredible. Players like them are great examples. So yes, it’s always at the back of my mind—’Why not me?'”
Abhimanyu Easwaran Domestic Career

Easwaran has smashed a total of 7,600 runs in first-class cricket, with the help of 29 half-centuries and 27 centuries. The 30-year-old has also been the leading run scorer for Bengal in the Ranji Trophy for many seasons but has yet to make his debut in the national team.
