I'm Literally Speechless: Wasim Akram Lashes Out At Pakistan After Yet Another Loss To India
The former legendary Pakistani skipper Wasim Akram admitted that it was very difficult to watch the Pakistan team perform against India after continuously losing in the last four or five years, in which one more defeat has been added after the Super 4 loss against the Men In Blue.
On 14 September, in the group stage, Pakistan lost to India by 7 wickets, and now in the Super 4, India won against Pakistan by 6 wickets. Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill's opening partnership of 105 runs in 9.5 overs helped India clinch the game for their fourth successive T20I win over Pakistan since the 2022 World Cup.
Akram stated that,
"I'm going to express my true feelings, It is tough to watch Pakistan. I understand as an ex-player winning and losing that part of the game. But again, India has outplayed Pakistan in every department over the last four or five years. Once or twice, we have won here and there, but it has been incredible from India. The talent, the depth, everything. One or two catches can be dropped in any game; that is fine. But from 91 in the first 10 overs, when we fail to reach 200, there is nothing to say."
Akram was quite stunned by Pakistan all-rounder Mohammad Nawaz's dismissal against India in the Super 4 clash. That moment was one of the turning points for the Pakistan team, and the frustration was very visible on the face of coach Mike Hesson when Nawaz returned back to the dressing room.
He said,
"Unbelievable, I'm literally speechless."
